The rain poured, but that did not deter the participants in this year’s 5th Annual Anderson Golf Classic at the Fredericksburg Country Club on June 22nd, 2018.

Anderson Golf Classic

All teams arrived in the morning for registration, sponsored gift bags and breakfast. The teams teed off and the competition began with only a short delay. The tournament finished up around 1 pm, followed by a delicious lunch which the golfers enjoyed during the awards and raffle ceremony.

Awards were given to the longest drive and closest to the pin for a few holes which were sponsored by some of our guests. There were a few fun competitions at this year’s classic, because who doesn’t like a little friendly competition? The winners lucked out with this year’s prizes! Prizes included golfing equipment, Yeti coolers and a Big Green Egg with EGGcessories!

All of the proceeds for this year’s Classic are being donated to Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office program, Fight Against Heroin and Opioid Addiction. Captain Chuck Carey and 1st Sgt. Murdock Woodard of Spotsylvania County spoke about their program during the event and took questions from the audience. At the end of the ceremony, awards for the top three teams were presented followed by a gracious speech made by Mark Anderson.

The Anderson family, which has been affected personally by this epidemic, like so many other local families, hope to bring awareness to all about the dangers of opioid addiction through the Fight Against Heroin and Opioid Addiction program. Politicians, law enforcement officers and public health officials have tried to stem the growing tide of opioid overdoses. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office plans to use these funds to facilitate awareness, education, and provide support for our area.
As with much of our nation, more and more Virginians have become addicted to these drugs and many have died. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, opioids have claimed the lives of more than 2,500 people in Virginia. The number of opioid overdoses in Virginia has risen steadily over those years with 764 people having died in the last year, 325 people having died from heroin overdoses alone.
The Anderson Companies and family are incredibly appreciative for all of the generous donations. Not only did our participants donate when joining the event, but they participated in our raffles, donated gift items for all participants, purchased event polo shirts, donated gifts for the award ceremony, and some even returned their prizes for proceeds to be awarded back for such a worthy cause.

Thank you again to all who participated to make this year’s Classic one to remember!

We want to thank everyone who attended the Annual Anderson Christmas Party on Thursday, December 14th, 2017.

Surrounded by all of the Anderson employees and their loved ones, we had a wonderful time at Brock’s Riverside Grill located in Downtown Fredericksburg.  Brock’s provided a beautiful venue and delicious dinner buffet. The buffet included crab dip, chicken tenders, chicken cordon bleu, prime rib, salad, potato salad, green beans, roasted potatoes and crab cakes! Even though everyone was full from all of the tasty food, they still had room for dessert… cake from Paul’s Bakery, an Anderson Christmas party tradition!

After everyone ate, Mark Anderson, the President of The Anderson Companies, thanked all of the employees for their hard work and making 2017 a great year. A very special thank you anniversary gift presentation was then given by Mark and Jan La Van, our Administrative Assistant, to 15 employees who have worked more than 10 years with some dedicating over 30 years to Anderson Oil and Anderson Propane.

Our Senior Vice President, Nicole Cameli, then presented the second annual Anderson Razzi Awards to those employees who stood out during the year.  We have quite a few employees up for the laugh.

Next, she introduced special party goer, T-Rex, who paraded around and made many friends much to the amusement of all.

Mark and T-Rex

This was followed by Mark and his wife, Susan, calling out the raffle winners for the many prizes including cash, a large flat screen television, Yeti cooler and a Big Green Egg!

Then just when everyone thought the Christmas party could not get any better, it was time to play Left Center Right! With Mark adding extra incentive to the pot for a more competitive final round.  The lucky winner this year was Bekah, an Anderson Oil employee.

Our Left Center Right Winner Bekah and her husband, Cody

After the Anderson Company’s favorite holiday game, Mark thanked everyone for attending, and that was a wrap! Between the delicious food, presents, and good company, it was evident that everyone had a great time at the Christmas party. Anderson Oil Company, Anderson Propane Service, and Anderson Leonarkis Construction appreciate all the hard work and dedication from our employees and it was a pleasure to return the favor with gratitude, fun games, and presents.

On behalf of The Anderson Companies, we hope that you and your loved ones had a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year! 2017 was a great year and we look forward to an even better 2018!

Thank you for visiting us at the Fredericksburg Fall Home & Craft Festival!

This past weekend, October 21st – 22nd, 2017, Anderson Propane Service and Anderson Leonarkis Construction had a blast at the Fredericksburg Fall Home & Craft Festival that took place at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center!

All of us here at Anderson Propane and Anderson Leonarkis Construction are beyond happy with the turnout at the 2017 Fredericksburg Fall Home & Craft Festival! At the festival, we had a nice range of the products we sell including a Big Green Egg. We showcased products that work for natural gas, wood and pellets in addition to propane, as well as, vented and vent-free items. Our experts were on hand to discuss heating and hearth needs from product selection to installation and service.

Jorge Leonarkis and Chris Hardin from Anderson Leonarkis also had a great time this weekend. Both of them were ready to share their knowledge in everything construction! They also stayed busy by handing out lots of free giveaways like beach balls, Frisbees, and lunch bags full of goodies. Future home builders stopped by their booth to view pictures of their completed work and view potential plans. They also got to chat with them about their new home construction and residential remodeling plans. We take pride in providing exceptional customer service and quality workmanship.

Stay tuned for more information on the Fredericksburg Spring Home Show in March!

I am very satisfied with the entire Anderson team. Everyone at Anderson went out of their way to make my wife and I feel like one of the Anderson Family. When they were completed doing our Gas Conversion job, Sherry and I were very confident that we couldn’t have found anyone that could’ve done a better job. Thank you very much Anderson Propane!

I was impressed from the 1st time I spoke to someone. The lady on the phone was relaxed, helpful and patient, explaining the process and how things would go. The best part was the gentlemen who came out to look at our tank, equipment, lines and repairing as needed.

I had a great experience with Anderson! Landscapers accidentally severed the feed line into my house, and they advised me of the immediate actions I needed to take, things to be aware of and had a manager and field tech out for the repair almost immediately. Very impressed with the service!
