Archive for year: 2016

We want to thank everyone who attended the Annual Anderson Christmas Party on Thursday, December 15th, 2016. Surrounded by all of the Anderson employees and their loved ones, we had a wonderful time at The Inn at the Old Silk Mill located in Downtown Fredericksburg.

We also would like to thank Karen Jonas and Tim Bray for the beautiful music. Jonas’ new album, Country Songs, is out now! The Sunken Well Tavern provided the delicious dinner buffet. The buffet included crab dip, pigs in a blanket, sliders, mac & cheese, BBQ chicken, filet mignon, salad, collard greens, and crab cakes! Even though everyone was full from all of the tasty food, they still had room for dessert… cake from Paul’s Bakery!

After everyone ate, Mark Anderson, the President of The Anderson Companies, thanked all of the employees for their hard work this year. Mark then called out the raffle winners, each winner chose their prize from the gift table.

The Senior Vice President, Nicole Cameli, spoke after Mark. She expressed how thankful she is to be a part of the Anderson Companies and thanked the employees for making 2016 a great year.

Just when everyone thought the Christmas Party could not get any better, it was time to play Left Center Right! The lucky winner was Todd, an Anderson Leonarkis Construction employee.

After Left Center Right, the Administrative Assistant, Jan LaVan, announced some more winners of the raffle. This time, the winners chose between three empty boxes numbered 1, 2, and 3. The first person called won a Roku TV, the second called won a flat screen 48 inch TV, and the third called won a Yeti Cooler!

After the last raffle winners were called, Mark thanked everyone for attending, and that was a wrap! Between the delicious food, presents, and good company, it was evident that everyone had a great time at the Christmas Party. Anderson Oil Company, Anderson Propane Service, and Anderson Leonarkis Construction appreciate all the hard work and dedication from our employees and it was a pleasure to return the favor with gratitude, fun games, and presents.

On behalf of The Anderson Companies, we want to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year! 2016 was a spectacular year and we look forward to an even better 2017!

Here at Anderson Propane Service, we are very animal friendly. If you stop by our office, there is a pretty good chance you might see a dog wandering around here, or even a pig! None of our employees miss work if they cannot find someone to help take care of their animals, they just bring them into work for the day! A couple of employees here recently took a trip to the Fredericksburg SPCA to donate some goodies for the animals that are waiting for their forever home.

Pictured below is our very own Philip Gouldman and Janet Hahn, and the Fredericksburg SPCA’s newest Volunteer Coordinator, Alison Carlin!

A picture of the goodies we donated to the Fredericksburg SPCA

Alison gave Janet a tour of the facility. She got to meet all of the sweet, loving dogs and cats that are patiently waiting to find a home. Janet is a big animal lover, so naturally, she wished she could take all of them home with her!

On behalf of all of us here at Anderson Propane, we want to thank the Fredericksburg SPCA for allowing us to stop by. More importantly, we are grateful for everything they do to help all of the precious dogs and cats get the love they deserve and find their forever home. We hope to make a visit again very soon!

Anderson Propane’s Adoption Stories

A couple of the employees here at Anderson Propane have adopted their pets from the Fredericksburg SPCA. Here are their stories:

Sofie

Bekah Constien and her husband, Cody, recently adopted a dog from the Fredericksburg SPCA. They both had wanted a dog for awhile. Instead of getting a puppy, they thought it would be best to give an older dog a home. They immediately went to the Fredericksburg SPCA. When they saw Sofie (at the time her name was Amaretto) they both fell in love! She was the sweetest dog they had ever met. After spending some time with her, they had no hesitation in choosing to adopt her.

Sofie had only been at the SPCA for a little less than a week, but she had been living in a shelter in North Carolina for over a month. Just one day before getting euthanized, the Fredericksburg SPCA rescued Sofie along with four other dogs from the same shelter in North Carolina. Bekah and Cody could not be happier with the new addition to their family. They hope to adopt many more shelter animals in the future and give them the love they so deserve!

Sophie

Stephanie Pruett adopted her cat from the Fredericksburg SPCA. She went to a few different places and met some cats, but did not feel any of them were right for her. When she thought the search was over and began feeling disappointed, she remembered the Fredericksburg SPCA! When Stephanie got to the SPCA, she had a good feeling. She informed the staff that she was looking for a black cat. They told her they had just rescued two cats that were sick, but one was well enough to be adopted… and it was a black cat! Stephanie could not resist this precious kitty! She knew right away this was the one.

At the time, the cat’s name was Tootsie. Stephanie did not think that name was fitting. So, she renamed her Sophie! (No, Stephanie or Bekah did not plan to name their pets the same name. Just coincidence!) Sophie now has a loving family and a forever home where she plays and takes naps whenever she pleases!

Bekah and Stephanie both could not imagine life without their pets! They are part of the family now. Both Sofie and Sophie finally have the loving homes they deserve. If you are thinking about adding a new addition to your family, please consider adopting a dog or cat from the Fredericksburg SPCA.

If you have already given a shelter pet a forever home, please share your adoption story with us on our Anderson Propane Service, Inc. Facebook page!

Thank you for visiting us at the Fredericksburg Fall Home Show!

This past weekend, October 15th – 16th, 2016, Anderson Hearth & Home and Anderson Leonarkis Construction had a blast at the Fredericksburg Fall Home Show that took place at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center!

All of us here at Anderson Hearth & Home and Anderson Leonarkis Construction are beyond happy with the turnout at the 2016 Fredericksburg Fall Home Show! At the home show, we had a great selection of floor models to view as well as catalogs. These showcased products for natural gas, wood and pellets in addition to propane, as well as, vented and vent-free items.  Our experts were on hand to discuss heating and hearth needs from product selection to installation and service.  Plus, we had a football field goal set up for visitors to give it their best shot at a goal using our free mini footballs!

As you can tell in the pictures, Jorge Leonarkis and Chris Hardin had a great time this weekend. Both of them were ready to share their knowledge in everything construction! They also stayed busy by handing out lots of free giveaways like flashlights, soccer balls, and cellphone pockets.  Future home builders stopped by their booth to view pictures of their completed work and view potential plans. They also got to chat with them about their new home construction and residential remodeling plans.  We take pride in providing exceptional customer service and quality workmanship.

Don’t forget the most important ingredient to any cookout: safety.  Watch the video above featuring Food Network personality Sunny Anderson for some safety advice, and review the tips below.

  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.  Whether it’s assembly, use, maintenance, cleaning, or storage, make your grill manufacturer’s instructions your go-to resource for safe grilling.
  • Position the grill in a safe location.  Keep your grill outdoors and at least five feet from the house on a level surface that is clear of outdoor furniture, overhead trees, or other potential fire hazards.
  • Check for leaks.  Use a soapy water solution to check connections for leaks.  Expanding bubbles indicate a leak.  Follow this procedure every time you replace a cylinder.
  • Follow proper lighting procedures.  Follow the manufacturer’s lighting instructions, and will all grill models, keep the lid open and don’t lean over the grill when lighting it.
  • Follow proper relighting procedures.  If your flame goes out, turn off the gas and refer to your owner’s manual.  At a minimum, with all grill models, keep the lid open and wait at least 15 minutes before relighting.
  • Be present.  Stay close and never leave your grill unattended.

Happy Grilling!
